A scam alert in southern Kentucky after an elderly woman was ripped off.
Police say the woman told them a man knocked on her door Wednesday, told her he was with the electric company and needed to measure her home.
Once inside, investigators say the man distracted the woman and stole nearly 3200 dollars.
The woman didn't realize she had been robbed until Thursday.
Police describe the suspect as a white man, around six feet tall and 170 pounds. He's believed to be in his sixties and could be posing as a utility worker.
