Several Wrecks Shut Down I-75

Heavy rain caused a pile up on northbound Interstate 75 Saturday afternoon. Three crashes happened within minutes near mile marker 81 in Madison County.
Drivers say a downpour made it difficult to see and nearly impossible to stop when other cars started slowing down. The most serious wreck happened when a car slammed into a tractor trailer. Fortunately no one was seriously injured. Traffic was at a standstill for hours while crews cleaned up the mess.
