Kentucky Firefighters Lend A Helping Hand

Print

Fire crews battling raging wildfires in Florida will be getting a little help from Kentucky.

The Kentucky Division of Forestry is sending both manpower and equipment to help put out those wildfires. So far, more than 125 square miles have burned.

A team of 11 firefighters from around Kentucky are on their way to Stark, Florida to help fight the fires.

Each of the firefighters will work with specialized equipment in groups of two. They'll be joining fire crews from all over the southern part of the country.

The initiative is all a part of an agreement between the Southern States Group of Foresters.
