A Lexington mother and her four children are trying to pick up the pieces after losing everything in a house fire.
The fire earlier this week on Hisle Way started in an upstairs bedroom.
Shenelle Allen and her children, ages four to eleven, all managed to walk away from the duplex fire. But as the mother still needs help getting back on her feet.
"I watch the news all the time. I would had never thought it would happen to me but it has..If it does happen to you, you have to be strong for your family," says Shenelle Allen
But as this mother tries to stay strong she's running to a big financial problem.
The family did not have insurance. Allen says she emptied her savings to come up with a deposit for a new place..She's received a lot of help from the red cross and community centers but her worries for her family include getting back on track and staying there.
