Friends and family of a fallen kentucky soldier said their final goodbyes Sunday. The funeral for Staff Sargent Christopher Hamlin, 24, was held in London.

Hamlin died last week in Iraq when a roadside bomb exploded near his vehicle. Staff Sargent Hamlin was laid to rest at Potter Cemetary in East Bernstadt. A friend of Hamlin's says he was proud to serve his country.

"You knew he absolutely loved what he did, and was so proud to be doing it and that gives me comfort knowing he died doing what he loved to do."

Hamlin's friends also say he was proud of the work American troops are doing in Iraq.
