A multiple vehicle accident, just west of Winchester, sent three people to the hospital on Monday morning. The driver of one of the vehicles was air-lifted to UK hospital.
It happened around 10:00 Monday morning on U.S. 60.
Police say a white van traveling eastbound failed to stop at the intersection of U.S. 60 and Hud Road, rear-ending another van preparing to turn left.
The collision sent the white van into the westbound lane, striking a pick-up truck head-on. The truck then landed in a deep ditch.
The driver of the truck, an adult male, was air-lifted from the scene. His passenger and the driver of the white van were transported to Clark Regional Medical Center.
The female driver who was trying to turn left was not injured, but she says she's lucky to be alive.
The road was re-opened around 10:30. The condition of the driver is not known at this time.
