Body Found In Pond Is Likely Murder Victim

Video will be available shortly

Police now say a body found over the weekend in a Pulaski County pond does appear to be a murder victim they've been looking for.

The sheriff is now waiting for dental records to positively confirm the body is Irene Guitierrez, who was shot last month near Somerset.

She was discovered in a pond on a large farm near the Pulaski-Lincoln County line, found by a worker on the farm.

All indications are that it is 43-year-old Irene Guetierrez. Police have been searching for her since news of the murder hit several weeks ago.

The shooting took place at a mobile home on Grundy Road some twenty miles from where the body was found.

Sheriff's deputies claim 30-year-old Jose Guerra fired the shots that killed Guitierrez, during a party of some sort.

While the getaway car was discovered in South Carolina with evidence the body had been inside, no one has seen Guerra.

The trailer, abandoned the evening of the shooting, appears to remain that way.

An autopsy on the body was performed Sunday in Frankfort. No word yet on the results.
