State police say a 31-year-old Sharpsburg man who was struck and killed on a northeastern Kentucky rural road early this morning was hit by two vehicles.

The man was identified as 31-year-old Jackie Miller.

State police say Miller was initially hit at 12:15 a.m. by a 2007 Chevy pickup driven by 56-year-old Richard George of Carlisle. Then, he was hit by a 2000 Jeep driven by 42-year-old Karen Jones, also of Carlisle.

Detectives say Miller was lying in the roadway on Kentucky 57 in Nicholas County when he was struck by the pickup, then by the Jeep.

The Nicholas County Coroner pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

No charges were filed, but death remains under investigation.
