Injury Accident Shuts Down Busy Road

A serious accident shuts down busy Georgetown Road.

Police say a Chevy Astro van crossed the center line at Berea Road, colliding with a truck. The accident sent the semi truck through a fence.

The crash happened at around five Wednesday morning, not far from the Scott County line.

The driver of the van, 49-year-old Marlin Leonard, had to be cut from the vehicle. Leonard was wearing his seat belt.

He was transported to the hospital. We're told he was alert, but is listed in serious condition.

The road was closed for several hours as police worked to clean-up the mess and investigate the crash.
