Residents of a neighborhood near downtown Georgetown have a big bird problem on their hands. Vultures have roosted over homes in Deshea Estates.

The 35-40 birds fly over the houses and clean their beaks on shingles and damage property. Residents say the vultures even hover over their pets.

Annoying they may be, the vultures are endangered species. Georgetown's mayor says getting rid of them is a problem. Police will start to send out loud explosions to disturb the birds nesting. For now Georgetown residents will have to get used their new feathered friends flying above.
