30 years to the day after one of Kentucky's worst disasters, a memorial service will be held for victims of the Beverly Hills Supper Club fire.
The fire killed 165 people in Southgate in 1977. The ceremony will be held at the base of the hill that housed the fashionable night spot that went up in flames.
In its heyday, the Beverly Hills Supper Club was a showcase, a place in northern Kentucky where people came to see big name entertainment.
Then came May 28, 1977. The fire literally erupted, spread quickly, inside. There was panic when the fire broke out. Some of the doors were locked and people were trapped.
Firefighters and police officers, as well as survivors and relatives of the victims, are all expected to attend the memorial at 6:00 on May 28th.
