A central Kentucky mall is reopened after being shut down when a tenant received a suspicious package.

Kentucky State Police say the mall reopened Monday afternoon after a package received from Pakistan was determined not to contain explosives, but computer parts.

The Richmond Mall and a nearby trailer park were evacuated after a military recruiting office received the package.

Police and emergency officials evacuated the Richmond Mall at around eleven a.m. on Monday.

Madison County public safety director Jesse Cain says the package was sent to the Navy's section of the recruiting office.

Recruiters began opening the package at around 9:30 a.m. and
discovered a metal briefcase. Cain says they took the case to the
parking lot and called emergency officials.
