Suspect Escapes Lexington Police Custody

Police say around 9:00 Monday night a burglary call was placed at the Wise Recycling plant at 1554 Old Frankfort Pike.

When police arrived they took a man and woman into custody and placed both of them in the back seat of a cruiser. Some how the man rolled down the back seat window of the cruiser, jumped out of it and ran away.

Police searched for the suspect with a K-9 along Old Frankfort Pike and behind the recycling plant but could not find the escapee.

Lexington police say the suspect is a white man in his early 30's, standing about 5'8 tall, and weighed about 160 pounds.

Police say he was last seen wearing a blue shirt, gray shorts, and those handcuffs behind his back.

Police do not believe the man is armed and dangerous. The woman was taken into police custody.
