A Whitley County mother charged in her baby's death took a plea deal Wednesday morning in court.
Sarah Davenport entered an Alford plea to a lesser charge of reckless homicide. In exchange for the plea, prosecutors have recommended a five year sentence.
Davenport was originally charged with second degree manslaughter for the death of her three-month-old son.
Investigators say davenport allowed the infant to ingest cocaine and a cough-suppressant.
A formal sentencing date hasn't been set.
