The investigation continues into a police-involved shooting that left a man dead.

State police say 61-year-old Roger King was shot late Wednesday night inside his home near Junction City in Boyle County. Five sheriff's deputies and a state trooper were there to serve a warrant.

King didn't answer the door, but officers say they looked in a window and saw him waiving a handgun.

Trooper Eric Taylor fired a shot through the glass hitting King. King's family is now searching for answers.

"It's something you shouldn't have to do is clean up the blood of your father," says Allen King, Roger King's son.

Police tell 27 NEWSFIRST that they initially felt King was shooting at them, leading Trooper Taylor to fire one shot that would kill King on his couch.

After further investigation, police say King was holding a shotgun but never fired it.

Though the King's home remains quiet, the family says it's far from over.

"I want the truth," says Allen King.

Hmmm, Monday morning quarterbacks we are! Compare this to the cop killer that the Seattle Police shot dead. He came in contact with the officer and ran and would not put his hands up as requested. The reports that I have read stated that the bad guy, Clemmons, began also reaching into his coat about his waist line. Now the officer could have though that maybe the gunshot that he received from one of the officers he slaughtered was hurting and he was just tending to it while running and not shot Clemmons then we would have had 5 officers dead in Washington State. Instead the officer did as he was trained and shot the guy dead when he did this and then he gets to go home and be with his family. Basically, quit Monday morning quarterbacking! If you can do the job better than we can (yes I am a cop) then come and apply and then go do the job.

Once against, it's poor pitful criminal and bad cop! Why? Because the officers were doing their job. If this sorry SOB had had any sense, he would have just come out and not had a weapon! Good job officers! At least taxpayers will not be paying to house this criminal!

I support our police officers. They put their lives on the line each and everyday for very low pay. I know that officiers families have a hard job also-waiting for their love one to return. This man had been a threat to officers and others. They were protecting themselves in case of trouble. They were serving a EPO-that's a sure sign he was a bad egg. Thank you Officers for your Bravery.
