An unusual theft case in a Northeastern Kentucky County.

A woman in Blue Licks says crooks stripped the bark off nearly 100 trees on her property.

Thieves are targeting Slippery Elm trees. The bark is sold for herbal remedies. Crooks can get $150 for a fifty pound bag. The trees die after they are stripped.
