Eastern Kentucky Pedestrian Killed

NORTH VIRGIE, Ky. (AP) - Kentucky State Police say an Eastern Kentucky man was killed on Saturday after being struck while trying to cross a highway.

Crit Case of Dorton, Ky., was attempting to cross the northbound
travel lanes of U.S. 23 in the Virgie community of Pike County when
he was hit by a car driven by Ricky Branham.

Case was transported to Pikeville Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. Ricky and Karen Branham, both 43, were treated and
released. Alcohol was not a factor in the crash, police said, and no charges have been filed pending the outcome of an investigation.
