SUV Slams Into Home; Teenagers Charged

Video will be available shortly

A rude awakening for a Winchester woman and her family after an SUV smashed into their home.

Police say three underage girls were speeding along Cherry Street when they lost control of an SUV and crashed into the house. Police say they ran over a gas meter in the front yard, causing a natural gas leak.

Officials say all three girls fled the scene. One girl eventually went to the hospital with a leg injury.

Inside the home, there is extensive damage to the kitchen. The woman who lives there says she simply didn't know what hit her.

Nobody inside the home was hurt.

All three girls were detained by police because none of them are licensed drivers. The driver has been charged with fleeing the scene, wanton endangerment and failure to render aide. Another girl was charged with alcohol intoxication.
