Print

A ground-breaking ceremony took place Wednesday morning on the University of Kentucky campus.

It was for the new one-million square foot, UK Albert B. Chandler Hospital.

The $450,000,000 first phase of construction is one of the largest projects in state history. Hospital officials say the project will have a large impact on Kentucky's economy and health.

The new hospital is designed to position UK health care as a national leader in academic medicine.
