A jury returned a guilty verdict in a Mercer County murder trial Thursday afternoon.
A jury convicted James Crews of killing Darrin Maddox during a robbery two years ago at a tobacco warehouse in Harrodsburg.
Crews took the stand in his own defense, claiming five other men killed Maddox. Prosecutors argued all of the evidence pointed towards crews.
Deliberations lasted several hours. The jury recommended 50 years in prison. Formal sentencing is set for next month.
