Two Kentuckians Exposed To Dangerous TB Strain

Video will be available shortly

Two Kentuckians have been identified as passengers on a flight carrying an Atlanta attorney quarantined with a dangerous strain of tuberculosis.

Kentucky officials were notified by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Federal health officials say the risk of illness to other passenger is low. However, the Louisville health department is conducting tests on the individuals.

The infected patient has been identified as Andrew Speaker, a 31-year-old personal injury lawyer. Speaker has said he, his doctors and the CDC all knew he had TB before he flew to Europe for his wedding and honeymoon last month. But he said he was advised that he was not contagious or a danger to anyone.

Kentucky officials say the CDC has not notified them of any other passengers from the state who traveled on flights with Speaker.
