An elderly woman, who's been missing most of the week, has been found dead.

The director of emergency management in Lawrence County says the body of Florence Tkack was found earlier Saturday in the Big Sandy River.

Tack was found about a quarter of a mile up the river from where the search command center was located on McClure Branch Road, near Louisa.

Tkack was 79-years-old and an Alzheimer's patient.

She wandered away from the home of family members she was visiting on Wednesday.

Her body has been sent to the coroner's officer for an autopsy.
