Kevorkian Released On Good Behavior

COLDWATER, Mich. (AP) - An attorney for Jack Kevorkian says the man who claims to have participated in at least 130 assisted suicides "just wants a little privacy" over the next few days, now that he's out of prison.

Kevorkian left a Michigan prison today, eight years after being convicted of second-degree murder for a death that was broadcast on the CBS show "60 Minutes."

Kevorkian said his release "feels wonderful" as he paused near a white van that was waiting for him. Mike Wallace, a "60 Minutes" correspondent, got out of that van and embraced Kevorkian, greeting him by saying, "Hello, young man."

Meanwhile, Kevorkian's former attorney says that once Kevorkian is off probation, he should continue assisting people who want to commit suicide. But Kevorkian has promised never to help in another suicide.
