It's the American idol for filmmakers and a Kentucky man hopes the new realty TV show will help him make it big.
Jason Epperson of Winchester is one of the contestants on Fox's "On The Lot."
Tuesday night his family and friends watched the show from his Clark County home all in his support.
Epperson's friends and family have a new Tuesday night ritual, gathering to watch him compete against other filmmakers on the new show.
Epperson found out about the show from his mother-in-law in December, six weeks before the show aired he learned he was a finalist.
His big start was filming a Sawyer Brown video in Winchester a few years ago and it's been nonstop since then.
Despite getting a tough critique from Carrie Fisher last week, one of the shows judges, his short film "Getta Rhoom" won fans over, putting him in the top three.
While he has a huge fan base here in Kentucky his friends and family know his heart belongs in Los Angeles.
Epperson's film did not air Tuesday night, so that makes him safe until next week.
