Car Hits Pole, Kills Driver

Police say 42-year old John Hampton lost control of his car and crashed through a fence, eventually striking a utility pole.

It happened on Alexandria Drive at Leestown Road. Hampton died on the scene.

Police began a search for a child, after finding a car seat.
After using high tech equipment to search the area, they determined there was no child involved in the accident.

Investigators believe speed was a factor in the crash.
Hampton was not wearing a seatbelt.
