An exciting Saturday for hundreds of kids.

The annual 'Shop With A Trooper' event took place at the Stanford Walmart.

Organizers say it's an event that provides Christmas to children, whose parents have had a rough year.

Hundreds of people from Lincoln, Garrard, Boyle and Jessamine counties, took part in the annual event.

Volunteers helped raise more than $7,000 for this event, and state police say it's the most money raise by any Walmart in the Post 7, Richmond area.

Some volunteers even donated their own money.
