Classmates coping with death of teen driver killed in crash
Grief counselors are helping students cope today with the death of a student killed in a car crash.
16-year-old Bailey Haynes died Sunday night after the car she was driving crossed the center line of US 27, just outside Burnside in Pulaski County. Haynes collided head-on with a pick-up truck driven by 20-year-old Arron Perry of Whitley City. 30-year-old Steven Slinker was in the car with Haynes and is the owner of the car she was driving. Haynes died at the scene. Slinker and Perry were airlifted to UK Chandler Medical Center. Slinker is in fair condition but Perry's condition has not been released.
Haynes was a junior at Pulaski Central School. She did not have a driver's license or permit.
Visitation for Haynes will be held Wednesday evening at Lange & New Brothers funeral home in Somerset. Her funeral will be Thursday with burial to follow at Neely's Creek Cemetary.

A late Sunday night crash killed a teenager and sent two others to the hospital.
Investigators say the 16-year-old girl's Pontiac Grand Prix collided head-on with a Ford Ranger pickup truck on Highway 27 in southern Pulaski County.
The driver of the Grand Prix, Bailey Haynes, died right after the crash.
A passenger in her car and the driver of the pickup were airlifted to U.K. Hospital.
The passenger, Steven Slinker, 30, is listed in fair condition.
Hospital officials say there is no information on the pickup's driver, Arron Perry, 20, of Whitley City.
Haynes attended Pulaski Central High School.
