Businessman Charged After Federal Raid

Updated: Thu 12:25 AM, Jun 07, 2007

An Estill county businessman is in jail after a federal raid. Larry Riddell is accused of selling stolen goods.

The FBI, ATF, and state police took a truck load of evidence from his construction business, convenience store, and home. The raid was part of a three month investigation.

Investigators say Riddell received, possessed, concealed, stored and sold more than five thousand dollars worth of stolen merchandise, including health and beauty aids, over the counter medicine, and air conditioning units.

Investigators say those items were sold at the convenient store at the gas station Riddell owned.

Police say the stolen goods came from multiple counties, but they are not sure how widespread it was.

Riddell's wife and daughter were also arrested.
