He was on the loose for several hours and considered armed and dangerous. Now the man suspected of killing a Harlan County woman is behind bars.

Kentucky State Police say 37-year-old Christopher Smith turned himself in just before eleven o'clock this morning. They say he's responsible for shooting 32-year-old Kimberly Ealy. Police say Ealy was shot in Harlan during a domestic dispute Smith was having with another woman who happened to be his girlfriend. That woman, as well as Ealy's son, were able to escape.

Ealy's son ran for help to nearby neighbors.

"He didn't want to be by the window. He thought he was coming back to get him", says Terry Adams.

Christopher Smith is now behind bars, charged with murder for the death of Kimberly Ealy after turning himself in. Police say his bond is set at $25 million dollars.
