A heavy rainmaker is set to move into our region later today. The bulk of the heaviest rain is overnight into tomorrow with a Flash Flood Watch in effect.
Strong winds moved into central Kentucky early Wednesday.
In Lexington, a tree blew down blocking Russell Cave Road in Fayette County. The road had reopened by 7:30 a.m.
Power lines were reported knocked down in southern Madison County.
The National Weather Service put much of the state under a high wind warning until 7 p.m. Wednesday. Gusts near 60 miles per hour are expected.
Before the strong winds moved in, torrential rains soaked the area. A mud slide was reported in Powell County near the Natural Bridge State Park lodge, blocking Highway 11. In Jessamine County, officials were forced to close Mackey Pike because of High Water.
