After months of not having a permanent leader the Richmond Police Department now has a new chief.

Larry Brock was named the leader of the Richmond Police Department ending a six month search. Chosen from ten finalists, he replaces the acting Chief Wanda Singleton.

Brock currently works for the Department of Justice in Cleveland, Ohio.

No stranger the Richmond Area, Brock went to school in Richmond and graduated from Madison High School, going on to work in the city's police department from 1979 to 83.

Brock says he's optimistic about the future and hopes to repair the tarnished image of the department.
