Local Families Talk To Soldiers Overseas

By: Ashley Davidson Email

Friends and families of Kentucky soldiers had the chance to talk to them overseas face to face Friday night. Talking With Heroes is a traveling talk show that broadcasts soldiers stories back home through a teleconference.

During tonight's broadcast soldiers in Afghanistan were able to talk to people at the gathering. Those in attendance were also able to watch footage of soldiers from Camp Anaconda, Iraq.

"Hopefully on the flip side for the families who are left behind, it provides them an opportunity to see that there are others like them who are missing their sons and their daughters. And there are people out there willing to help them get through having someone that's deployed," said Albert Williams, Jr. of the Kentucky National Guard.
