Mental evaluation requested for suspect in doctor shooting - MacKenzie Bates Reports
Request for alleged shooter's mental evaluation - MacKenzie Bates Reports
Attorneys for the man charged with killing a doctor at a Kentucky medical clinic want their client to get a mental evaluation.
John Combs' attorneys made that request this morning during a hearing in Perry County.
They say they want to know his mental state because he's now also accused of attacking correctional officers in the jail.
The judge did not rule on an evaluation today.
Police say Combs shot Dr. Dennis Sandlin to death last Tuesday after the doctor refused to give him pain killers.
