Puppy Recovering After Allegedly Being Beaten by Owner

Video will be available shortly

It's being called one of the worst cases of animal cruelty ever in Pulaski County.

Police arrested 30-year-old Ronald Turner Monday morning, for beating, choking, and nearly killing an 8-month-old puppy. Police say a neighbor caught the whole thing on tape.

Investigators say the tape shows Turner striking, choking, and slamming the dog against the ground. At one point, police also claim Turner rolled a dog house on top of the puppy.

The puppy is a Labrador. He was taken from the home by Pulaski County Animal Control, and is now recovering. Turner was arrested and charged with misdemeanor animal cruelty.

If convicted, he could receive up to a year in jail.
