Madison County Stamps Out Smoking

Video will be available shortly

As of Tuesday, smoking in public buildings in Madison County is against the law and that's the latest community to tell smokers to take it outside.

The Madison County regulation has been in effect now for more than 12 hours and so far officials say there have been a few complaints.

The health department passed the regulation in April and the ban went into effect at 12 o'clock Tuesday morning.

The Madison County Health Department did receive one call Tuesday morning about a business allowing smoking. They're now following up on that complaint.

First time offenders will get a letter warning them about the new regulation before fines begin.
