The University of Kentucky will spend $35 million dollars next year, aimed at lowering drop out rates.
The school's provost calls it a "war on attrition."
The plan includes an early warning system, designed to help UK monitor students who are struggling.
Officials say about 80% of freshmen return to UK for their sophomore year, but only 59% graduate within six years after enrolling at the school.
