Agriculture Candidate Arrested

The Democratic nominee for state Agriculture Commissioner was arrested last week and charged with menacing following an incident with his niece.

Sixty-eight-year-old David Lynn Williams was arrested last Friday after his niece, Glasgow City Clerk Sheila Oliver, says he threatened her.

She told Williams that documents he requested through Kentucky Open Records Law were not available. Oliver says Williams accused her of lying and became agitated. She says that Williams told her if she were a man, he'd knock her through the door.

Williams admitted that he told Oliver he would hit her if she was a man.

Williams spent an hour in jail before being released on a 500-dollar unsecured bond.
