A line of strong to severe storms will race across central and eastern Kentucky over the next several hours.
It was slick roads and black ice that caused several car crashes in Lexington and the surrounding area Saturday night.
In Jessamine County, a car crash sent a 12 year-old girl to the hospital with minor injuries. It happened around 7 p.m. on Highway 29 near West Jessamine High School. Sheriff's deputies say one of the drivers hit a patch of black ice, lost control, and veered into oncoming traffic.
In Lexington, police say there were 14 crashes between 6 p.m. and 10:30 p.m., including one injury accident.
As temperatures continue to drop over night, more water on the roads is expected to freeze causing a potential for hazardous road conditions.
