BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) - A change of venue to Bowling Green has been granted for the second murder trial of 39-year-old Lonnie Freeman and 32-year-old Dustin Asher.
The two men are each charged with murder and evidence tampering in the deaths of Daniel Froedge of Park City and Kelly Johnson of Smiths Grove. Froedge and Johnson were found shot and burned inside a truck in 2005 in Allen County.
A judge will be officially appointed during a supplemental pretrial conference set for June 26th. A mistrial was declared last October fifth in Allen County when Freeman and Asher were first tried.
The trial was disrupted shortly after it began when someone called in a bomb threat to the courthouse. It involved a heavy police presence, including snipers and bomb-sniffing dogs.
