Our focus now turns to the potential of record lows tonight. Many areas may wake up to thermometer readings below zero.
DETROIT (AP) - The 2014 Chevy Impala is the only non-luxury vehicle to earn the highest safety rating in new tests by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety for their high-tech crash prevention systems.
The institute gives a "superior" rating to vehicles that both warn the driver of a potential collision and apply the automatic brakes to significantly slow them.
Those vehicles are also the BMW 5 Series, BMW X5, Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Buick Regal, Cadillac CTS, Cadillac XTS and 2015 Hyundai Genesis.
