Former Garrard County Official Indicted on Murder, Assault Charges

Print

Former Garrard County Emergency Director, Dwayne Nave, was indicted Friday morning on murder and assault charges by a Garrad County grand jury.

The indictment stems from a deadly car crash last April that killed 43 year old Willard L. Quinn of Parksville.

State Police say Nave was intoxicated when his county-owned car crossed a center line on U.S. 27 near Bryantsville and slammed into a pickup truck driven by Quinn.

Police say Quinn was trapped in his pickup and unable to escape, which lead to his death.

A passenger in Quinn's truck, Kevin L. Reed, was also injured and taken to University of Kentucky Hospital.

Nave resigned Tuesday from his county job and will be arraigned July 20th on those charges.
