It's an act of generosity that one non-profit organization will never forget.
Lighthouse Ministries, in Lexington, is dedicated to helping out those who have fallen on tough times, feeding the needy six days a week and serving as a crisis center for men with life controlling problems like drug abuse.
In response to the growing need in the community, the organization is hoping to expand, with a bigger kitchen and dining facility and even adding a women's shelter.
Now a donor is helping out the agency by giving the facility half a million dollars.
Tuesday, Executive Director Tay Henderson said the organization is one step closer to that goal, thanks in part to a generous donation of $500,000 by an anonymous donor.
