A Garrard County woman says she thankful to be alive after a stranger pulled her from her burning home.
Betty Garnett's home caught last week while she was asleep. When she work up her house was full of smoke and flames. Garnett made an attmept to escape but fainted after opening the front door.
Garnett's son, James Garnett says a passerby, Luis Mercado, saw the burning home, ran inside to rescue his mom, and then called the fire department. Garnett says if Mercado had no acted, "things would be much different."
