Winchester residents Anthony and Debra Poole were back in court today for a preliminary hearing. However, the judge ordered the hearing to be continued as on of their attorneys had a scheduling conflict.
The Poole's each face a second-degree arson charge related to a fire at their Winchester home on December 17th. Investigators believe the Poole's set the fire as a way to benefit from the generosity of community members following such events. Police say the Poole's were also involved in a house fire recently in West Virginia.
The Poole's have seven children who are currently being cared for by other family members.
Defense attorneys asked the judge for a reduction in the $20,000 cash bond currently in place for each of them. That request was denied and the Poole's remain in custody in the Clark County Detention Center.
