WOOSTER, Ohio (AP) - Investigators are looking into whether a newborn found on a northeast Ohio porch is connected to a missing pregnant woman 45 miles away.
A DNA sample from the baby girl who turned up near Wooster on Monday has been given to Stark County authorities investigating the disappearance of Jessie Davis. A bottle and can of formula left with the infant have been sent to a state lab in Columbus to be analyzed for fingerprints and any other evidence.
The baby was sleeping in a wicker basket when Don and Sue Redman
found her Monday at their home.
The Wayne County sheriff doesn't believe there's a link to the Davis case. Don Redman says he thinks the baby was left by someone who knew his wife's background as a nurse.
