Road crews make progress clearing snow and ice

Despite some progress by road crews across the state, Kentucky drivers had to cope with slick spots and brutally cold temperatures Friday morning.

Interstate 64 reopened late Thursday night following an accident in Clark County.

A semi truck hauling explosives collided with a SUV near the Fayette County line.

The crash closed the eastbound lanes for about one hour.

In Lexington, road crews worked throughout the overnight hours to get roads salted and scraped.

Lexington Streets and Roads employees have been working 12-hour shifts since Thursday.

They had all the priority roads pre-treated before the snow hit.
