New Scam Comes With Different Twist

We often hear about fake checks, sent to people in the mail. They usually come with a notice saying you've won a sweepstakes.

A southern Kentucky man says he received such a letter, but this time, it came with a different twist.

This letter didn't ask for the recipient to send them money. Instead, it was just a check that looked real. Henry Kirkpatrick got a letter saying he'd won $250,000. He then took it to work to show off to his friends.
One of them became suspicious, and soon found out the letter wasn't what it seemed.

There were two phone numbers on the letter, but neither of them would tell anything about the drawing. But the person who answered strongly urged depositing the check.

Kirkpatrick's name was also spelled wrong on the check, another clue something was wrong.
