Relative Scuffles With Police After Man Is Convicted In Hospital Melee

JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. (AP) - Just after a southern Indiana man's trial ended on charges that he attacked hospital workers, one of his relatives was arrested for scuffling with sheriff's deputies outside the courtroom.

Forty-two-year-old Thomas Bonner Senior was accused of attacking workers at Clark Memorial Hospital in March, after he learned his 19-year-old son died in a drug overdose.

Yesterday, he was acquitted on an aggravated battery charge, but convicted on three lesser charges.

As he left the Clark County courtroom, his niece, Shelby Oglesby, kissed him on the cheek. She struggled with officers as they attempted to arrest her. Another woman, Crasinda Johnson, was also arrested.

Bonner is scheduled to be sentenced on July 18th. His two other sons also face charges in the hospital fight.
