If you are a Kentucky Utilties customer, your monthly bill could soon increase.
K.U. wants to increase overall rates by 11.5% and residential rates by 13.7%.
That means an increase of $11.85 per month to the average residential customer who uses an average of 1,230 kilowatt hours a month.
K.U. officials say the increase is needed because there are more customers and more demand on its system than ever before.
They also say last year's ice storm and September 2008's wind storm cost the company millions.
The rates have to be approved by Kentucky's Public Service commission.
