Monterey, Ky. – The Kentucky State Police in Campbellsburg today announced the destruction of a potential multi-million-dollar marijuana crop.
A KSP pilot spotted the plants Thursday near Monterey in rural southern Owen County about seven miles south of Owenton. The crop involved 2,835 plants in 14 plots planted under a power line.
KSP Lt. Chad White said the size of the haul was unusually large. White said the plants had a street value of between $200,000 to as high as $5.6 million if all the plants had reached full maturity.
The Henry County Sheriff’s Department, the Owen County Sheriff’s Department and the New Castle Police Department assisted in destroying the crop.
